GENERAL RULES – Live Stock

 

 

  1. All exhibitors must be members of the Renfrew Agricultural Society. 2017 membership is $5.00. If winnings are more than $8.00, $5.00 will be deducted for 2018 membership.
  1. Fifteen percent of all prize money will be deducted from all classes as entry fees. Donated prize money is exempt from the percentage deduction. HST will be charged on all entry fees.
  2. Where the head of a family is a member, the members of the family may make entries under that membership number.
  3. All entries must be made on entry forms supplied by the fair and should be in the order listed in the prize list.
  4. In making entries for purebred livestock, the exhibitor must give his name and address and the date of birth, name, registration number, name of sire and dam of all animals to be shown. For breeds identified by tattoo markings or ear tags, such must be filled in for each animal. All purebred animals must be registered, including calves under 1 year except where otherwise stated.
  5. Animals entered for competition must be the bona fide property of the person entering them, with the exception of animals where otherwise stated in the prize list.
  6. Judges can use their own discretion as to awarding prizes, and in all cases where they do not think the entry worthy, they can withhold the prize.
  7. No bedding will be provided for livestock.
  8. All livestock exhibitors are requested to enter the fair grounds at the gates off Fourth Street.       One five admission ticket per exhibitor will be sent to exhibitors submitting advance entries. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT RECEIVE A TICKET.
  9. No prizes will be paid until 14 days after the fair or until the Directors have time to settle any dispute which may arise, and finally sanction the awards. Should the funds of the Society be insufficient to pay the full amount of prizes, a certain percentage will be deducted.       Agricultural classes will receive at least 50% payment of prize accounts.
  10. Any errors or mistakes must be reported on or before November 1, 2017 or will not be considered.
  11. Exceptions as to errors in prizes must, in order to be considered, be made known to the General Manager before the close of the Fair. No protest will be considered unless accompanied by a deposit of $2.00.       The deposit to become the property of the Fair if the protest is not sustained, but if sustained, the full amount will be handed back to the party who entered the protest.
  12. While the Directors will take every reasonable precaution to secure the safety of articles at the Fair, the owner must take the risk of exhibiting, and should any exhibit be accidentally injured, lost or stolen, the Directors will assist towards its recovery, but will not make any payment for the value thereof.
  13. The Directors reserve the right to interpret their own rules and regulations.
  14. Entries of any exhibitor in any Department may be refused in the case of an exhibitor who has shown an objectionable attitude or who has acted in an unsportsmanlike manner at a show. The various committees in charge reserve the right to refuse any entry.
  15. Any information collected by the Renfrew Agricultural Society regarding members, exhibitors, sponsors, directors and any other person related directly to the business of the Renfrew Agricultural Society and the Renfrew Fair, will be solely used for the purposes of promotion of the Renfrew Agricultural Society and the Renfrew Fair, and for the maintenance of their files and data base. Any member, exhibitor, commercial exhibitor, sponsor or director realizes that when they agree to take part in the Renfrew Agricultural Society and the Renfrew Fair, that their names may be published for these reasons only. None of this information whatsoever will be sold or transferred to any outside party for any reason.
